🌿 New Client – What to Expect

Welcome to Blue Lotus Massage! I want your first visit to feel comfortable and

stress-free from the moment you arrive.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • Arrival: Please arrive 5–10 minutes early to complete a short intake form and discuss your goals for the session.

  • Consultation: We’ll talk about any areas of pain, tension, or special focus you’d like addressed. Every massage is customized to your needs that day.

  • The Session: You’ll relax on a comfortable massage table with fresh linens. I use professional draping techniques at all times to ensure your privacy and comfort.

  • Communication: I encourage you to let me know about pressure, comfort, or any adjustments needed during the session. This is your time to unwind and heal.

  • Aftercare: Many clients feel deeply relaxed, so plan time afterward to enjoy the benefits. Hydrating with water helps your body process released tension.

My goal is to create a safe, professional, and restorative experience every time you visit.

🌿 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Before Your Appointment

What should I wear? You’ll undress to your comfort level. Professional draping ensures your privacy at all times.

Do I need to bring anything? No, everything is provided. Just bring yourself and an open mind for relaxation.

Do you offer same-day appointments? Generally no, but you may ask. Advance booking is recommended.

Do you accept insurance? Currently, Blue Lotus Massage does not bill insurance directly. I can provide receipts for you to submit to your provider if massage is covered.

Can children or teens receive massage? Yes, with parental consent. A parent or guardian must be present during the session. Massage can be helpful for stress, posture, and sports recovery at any age.

*During Your Session

Will the massage be painful? Massage should never be painful. Even in deep tissue sessions, pressure is adjusted to your comfort level. I’ll check in with you throughout.

Will I talk during the massage? That’s up to you. Some clients prefer silence, while others enjoy light conversation. I’ll follow your lead.

Do you work with specific conditions (TMJ, migraines, posture issues)? Yes. I specialize in TMJ therapy, headache relief, and biomechanics-based massage to help with chronic pain and posture-related discomfort.

*After Your Session

Will I be sore after my massage? Some mild soreness is normal, especially after deeper work. It should feel like “good soreness.” Drinking water and resting helps ease recovery.

What should I do after my massage?
Drink water, rest, and allow your body to absorb the benefits. A warm bath with Epsom salts can also help.

How often should I get a massage? It depends on your needs. Some come weekly for chronic pain, others monthly for maintenance. Together, we’ll find what works best for you.

*Payments & Policies

How do I pay? I prefer cash. I also accept local checks, Venmo, Apple Pay, and credit/debit cards

(a 3% bank fee applies to cards).

Should I tip? Tips are appreciated but never expected.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule? Life happens! Please give at least 24 hours’ notice so I can offer your time to another client. Frequent Cancellations and No Shows will not be tolerated and subject to payment.

A 24 hour cancellation notice is greatly appreciated
